i almost forgot it was tuesday. when you don't do anything all day at work, sometimes the mind can wonder, but it is tuesday so it is time to memorialize another friend. this week's victim: deborah obernesser.
when i say the name debbie obernesser, most minds immediately think of one thing: cake. not me. in addition to cake i think of cookies and pie and zucchini bread and all other sorts of wonderful, delicous deserts. debbie is the queen of deliciousness and now that she is moving to san francisco, aka the land of chocolate, her skills will become even more deadly. but debbie does more than bake. she, uh, you know, um, is really, really nice too. i kid. you rock, debbie. thanks for all the wonderful, sweet memories.

Life Is Just One Crushing Defeat After Another Until You Just Wish Flanders Was Dead
why? why? why?
why must they do this to me? i think the same water (henceforth known to this blog as wooder) that makes amoroso rolls so good also has properties that prevent philadelphia baseball teams from winning. i ain't no scientist, but its fact. you can look it up.
the phils dropped another stinker last night to the mets. this brings their record this season to 3-9. is it mathematically possible for a team to be eliminated from playoff contention in april? i wish it were, because it sure would make the next 5 months easier to tolerate if i knew the season was over already, but me, in my infinite wisdom, will continue agonizing over this team, which begs the question: will i ever learn?
magic number to 10,000 losses: 36
